HOW WELCOME TO LIFE! MASSAGE CAME TO BE: A BRIEF HISTORY OF SARAH…

Sarah has always loved health and nutrition.

In high school, she pursued running as a sport and noticed a dramatic improvement in her success when she was thoughtful about what she ate. It was then that she first determined to stop eating sugar, and pursue a healthy life.

Her first health-related job was at Good Earth Market in Utah as health-coach–suggesting supplements to assist customers in their health goals. This training expanded her knowledge of holistic principles and propelled her life-study of health and wellness.

As a young mother, Sarah certified in Iridology–looking at the human iris to identify and improve health issues. Although this modality is not currently part of her practice, it was a fascinating experience that further motivated continued learning. As a mother, Sarah embraced nutrition for her family, creating her own recipes and cooking from scratch. This led to backyard farming–utilizing fresh eggs and milk directly from the source.

Around this time, Sarah became interested in essential oils, and Welcome to Life! was born. Oils were expensive, so she began purchasing wholesale and reselling to friends and neighbors. We still sell oils at www.wecometolifeoils.com, though our business is small. Sarah still applies essential oils to her feet every morning as part of her routine.

A survivor of early childhood trauma, Sarah’s focus on physical health shifted into emotional health. She certified in Integrated Processing Technique from the Institute of Healing Arts (Lindon, UT) as a way to process trauma. Emotional Release (also known as “Processing” or "Integrative Processing Technique") helps clients clear negativity from past life experiences through guided imagery and role-play.

Ever the learner, Sarah next studied Foot Zoning, a more specialized and programmed version of reflexology, and earned her certification from The Academy of Foot Zone Therapy. This modality links body organs to various parts of the foot. By putting pressure on the feet, progress can be made in all parts of the body. This is a fascinating and effective modality for those who may initially feel uncomfortable with the idea of massage.

And when the kids graduated… Sarah studied Massage Therapy at Healing Mountain Massage School (Orem, Utah). As of February, she is now an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), and she’s excited to be part of your journey toward better health.
